Its amazing what you can learn about people… even after knowing them for years.  Such is the case with Nashville bassist Dean Marold.

Most professional musicians started playing their instrument as teenagers, if not before.  But Dean’s story proves that it’s never too late to start something new.

After getting his Bachelor’s Degree in Japanese Language, Dean moved to Japan and worked in both Tokyo and Fujiyoshida.  It while watching the headlining act at concert when he was 26, that he decided he was going to play bass for the rest of his life.

If you’ve ever wanted to stop what you’re doing, and start something new, check out the video above.  It was filmed at a sushi restaurant while Dean and I were touring Japan in August of 2018.  His story will inspire you!
