Chasing Saints History & Bio

When Ray Zeiters decided to put music on the backburner in order to pursue an acting career he never imagined that decision would in fact catapult him to the front-man position for the Los Angeles based band Chasing Saints.  Had it not been for a chance meeting with guitarist Michael Elsner, he may have been reading scripts instead of writing lyrics.  Now he and his fellow band-mates have recently completed their debut album.

Featuring a multitude of melodies that share themes of love, loss, loneliness, regret and redemption, the band's first album resonates with songs about living life and recovering from it. Their unique blend of sentimental lyrics and rock inspired guitar riffs has caught the attention of music supervisors and fans alike.  Influenced by bands such as Tonic, Collective Soul, and Matchbox 20, Chasing Saints is a distinct blend of superior musicianship and provocative lyrics.  "Burn", co-written with Jeff Abercrombie of the multi-platinum group Fuel, is the perfect example of Chasing Saints' ability to combine raw energy with melodies that mirror lyrical sentiment to the point of perfection. The inspirational and harmonically rich "Somedays" has already garnered praise in the form of an L.A. Music Award nomination for Best Adult Contemporary Group with Vocal. The intense and yearning "You Again" found its way onto the small screen as a featured song on CBS' Cold Case, while "Ignorance" was featured in the film "Return with Honor".  Other film and television credits from the new record include the songs “Lose” and “Not The End.”

While their songs speak loudly about their lives, even more audible are the band member's distinct personalities, each contributing to the uniquely universal sound that is Chasing Saints.  Ray Zeiter's passionate vocals and colorful lyricism meet with the first-class songwriting and production skills of accomplished guitarist Michael Elsner to provide music that lacks neither depth nor difficulty.  Backed by bassist Mario Pagliarulo, guitarist Tristen Whaley and drummer Ron Manaog, Chasing Saints is a talented and experienced group determined to set new standards in the industry.

"We've all had the opportunity and privilege to play with some really talented artists throughout each of our careers," Elsner says.  "That was great, but this means more.  With this, we get to create and inspire.  It's an entirely different experience when you get on stage to play and those are your songs and your stories.  People are listening, they're relating, and you see that.”  Zeiters concludes, “The momentum behind this band is exciting.  The feedback we are getting about this first album is a thrill, no doubt, but we’ve certainly only just begun.”
